Antique Russian Imperial Gold Ring with Green Stone and Dangling Heart Charm – Hallmarked "56" (14K), Assayer Mark "I.3", ca. Late 19th Century.
This item was given by descendant of a noble family.
This rare and elegant ring originates from the Russian Empire and dates back to the late 19th century (pre-1899). It is crafted from 14-karat rose gold, confirmed by the authentic hallmark “56” (zolotnik system), equivalent to 585 in modern metric terms. Additionally, the hallmark includes a visible assayer's mark “I.3.”, which corresponds to Russian Imperial assay standards prior to the 1899 reform.
The centerpiece features a marquise-cut green stone, likely glass or synthetic emerald, typical of Russian jewelry design of the period. Beneath the main setting hangs a charming heart-shaped pendant, adding a unique and romantic detail. The open-work shank and double-ring design further emphasize its delicate craftsmanship.
Condition: Good antique condition with minor signs of wear appropriate to age. Stone has visible surface scratches. Hallmarks are worn but legible.
