It was produced in France at the Fontaine Pétrifiante de Saint-Nectaire by the Papon Compan
One piece titled ‘farmers feast’ is signed by the artist Carl Ludwig Friedrich (C F Becker 1820 - 1900)
The artist created a mold and placed it under water rich in calcium carbonate, which covered it entirely with limestone, resulting in the relief.
