This Takasago figurine was made by the metal engraver Higuchi Hōzan 樋口芳山. Higuchi Hōzan is a maker of Takaoka copperware. Both of them have a calm look on their faces, which is very striking. Takasago dolls are a pair of Jo (grandfather) and Uba (grandmother), and are a symbol of marital harmony and longevity.
