
Fiat - 509 A Torpedo 2 porte - NO RESERVE - 1929
The two-door Fiat 509 was the first Italian car to win the Monte Carlo Rally in 1928, driven by the French gentleman-driver Jacques Bignan.
The car has undergone a recent total, complete and professional restoration by competition, followed with love and care by the previous owner.
The bodywork was removed from the chassis, completely restored, painted in the original Bordeaux colors with black mudguards. The hood is new. The upholstery has been completely redone as new as the originals, in Burgundy colored leather, such as the carpet and the shelves (see photo).
The engine has been totally rebuilt and the original magnet ignition has been modified by a specialist with an external coil for better and reliable operation, it works very well. The electrical system is the original 12 Volts and has been completely overhauled.
The original Fergat rims, suspension, steering, differential and gearbox have been restored and work well. Speed declared by the house over 80 km / h.
A nice change is that of the brakes: the originals have been invisibly modified from the outside with Fiat hydraulic cylinders and pump, for much more modern braking that allows you to use the car with more safety.
Registered with Italian (European) plates and booklet from transfer of ownership or export.
Registered in the Italian Fiat Historic Register (RFI) with registration in the registration document, she has participated in many events and elegance competitions.

This rare FIAT 509 A is the 2-door torpedo version, the "Sport" Mille Miglia version was also obtained on this chassis. It is rarer than the 4-door torpedo, more agile and lighter in driving. The engine is original 109 A version (improved power and reliability and tested compared to the normal 509), the date on the monobloc 23-1-1929 is clearly visible and coincides with the year of construction.
