Reference monograph on the Franco-German war of 1870. New revised and corrected edition, complete in 6 volumes to which is added the seventh volume forming the atlas, often missing, containing 56 plates mounted on a double-page tab, of maps and battle plans relating to this war. The 6 volumes are illustrated in quantity of portraits, historical scenes inset engraved on wood, maps, plans and tables. Exceptional iconography.

Copy covered with a beautiful decorative binding in period red demi-chagrin. Ornate spine, repeated golden fleurons, title, author and volume number. Decorative set. Friction to the back and to the caps. Interiors yellowed and rather dense foxing on the boards (see photos). Atlas well preserved.
