2 volumes in-12 (150x90 mm), plein veau, dos à nefs orné, pièces de titre et de tomaison de maroquin marron, tranches rouges (reliures de l'époque). Usures et frottements sur les plats et le dos, coiffe de tête du tome I partiellement arasée, coins émoussés, certaines pages brunies. Intérieur frais, rares rousseurs. 

Nouvelle édition de ce poème traduit du latin par Jean-Pierre de Bougainville, secrétaire perpétuel de l'Académie royale des inscriptions et belles-lettres. 

Long poème de près de 10 000 vers divisé en neuf livres (complet). Dans son siècle de Louis XV, Voltaire  écrit que Polignac "était aussi bon poète latin qu’on peut l’être dans une langue morte."
