Vhils (1987) - Unearth Series #24 (very large size)

Alexandre Farto, known as VHILS, grew up in Seixal, a transforming suburb of Lisbon. He discovered graffiti at around the age of 13 and used it as a tool for expression. It is through this practice that Vhils awakened to art and all its universe.

After starting studies in graphic design and 2D/3D animation, he left Lisbon and moved to London in 2007 to study Fine Arts at the famous Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. In 2008, he gained international recognition at the Cans Festival in London, when one of his works from the "Scratching the Surface" series was displayed alongside that of Banksy, the renowned street art artist. A photo of the two works even made the front page of The Times.

Since then, he continues to experiment with new techniques that today allow him to be recognized for his incredibly poetic, revolutionary, and unique works.
