Trilobite - Fossil mortality plate - Asaphus sp. - 34 cm - 30 cm

Exceptional group of Asaphid trilobites – Ordovician, Erfoud (Morocco)

This fascinating fossil block, originating from the Erfoud area (Morocco), dates back to the Ordovician and contains four complete specimens of trilobites of the genus Asaphid, as well as other partial individuals visible on the surface.

The size of the block is 34 x 30 x 10 cm, with the central specimen – perfectly visible and beautifully preserved – measuring as much as 16 cm. The natural composition of the group, arranged harmoniously on the front of the matrix, gives the piece a remarkable aesthetic impact.

What makes this slab particularly precious, beyond its visual quality, is the integrity of the fossils: none of the specimens have been restored or retouched with paint, as often happens with materials of similar origin. It is therefore an entirely authentic block, in which human intervention has been limited to the manual preparation of the matrix.

A rare and spectacular piece, ideal for scientific collections as well as for prestigious exhibitions.
