Commode - Hardwood - 1920s/30s Restored

Dimensioni: Larghezza 115 cm Altezza 97 cm Profondità 53 cm

Commode - Hardwood - 1920s/30s Restored

1920s/1930s Art Nouveau/Liberty style chest of drawers with floral motifs.
The original cabinet was made of various types of wood, heavily lacquered and damaged.
It has been completely sanded and recoloured in a modern pastel colour "Blue Nelson", retaining the original brass handles, locks and screws.
As a testament to the craftsmanship with which the piece of furniture was originally built, the handles are not interchangeable, each has a slightly different size, having been cast and shaped by hand.
The original windows are still working, but the key is missing.
The priced wooden back was added as the original panels were no longer recoverable. This new panel was shaped exactly with the back of the cabinet, obtaining continuity, as shown in the photo.
Thick rubber insoles have been added to the feet, the furniture is now stable.
The drawers have been painted respecting the precious dovetail joint with which they are built.
The insides of the drawers have been lined with a very resistant adhesive plastic paper.

Defects:
The bottom has not been painted and is a darker blue color, but it is not visible at all from the outside.
The drawers are quite hard to open and close due to the friction of the new paint, with time and use they should soften.
The key hole in the bottom drawer does not have the original screw, one was created that is practically identical to the original.

Dimensions:
Width 115 cm
Height 97 cm
Depth 53 cm
