Well-preserved mackerel scad - Fossil matrix - Paramblypterus sp. - 21 cm - 9 cm
Schmelzschuppenfisch Paramblypterus sp. in einer Geode aus dem Unteren Perm, Rotliegend von Jeckenbach, Rheinland-Pfalz, Deutschland.
Der Fisch ist etwa 20 cm lang und gut erhalten.
An dem Fossil wurden nur geringfügige Restaurationen vorgenommen, meist entlang von bergungsbedingten Rissen, die typisch für diese Fundstelle sind. Die Rückseite der Geode wurde stabilisiert.
Das Stück stammt aus einer alten Sammlung. Die Fundstelle ist schon seit Jahrzehnten nicht mehr zugänglich.

Well-preserved mackerel scad - Fossil matrix - Paramblypterus sp. - 21 cm - 9 cm
Enameloid-scaled fish Paramblypterus sp. in a geode from the Lower Permian, Rotliegend of Jeckenbach, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
The fish is about 20 cm long and well preserved.
Only minor restorations were carried out on the fossil, mostly along recovery-induced fractures, which are typical for this find site. The back of the geode was stabilized.
The piece comes from an old collection. The site has not been accessible for decades.
