Atribuição do prémio Artes da Academia Portuguesa de Letras como correspondente académico na área cultural 2019 Nascida em Lisboa em 1970, desde cedo se dedicou à Arte, concluindo o curso de artes na Escola Superior de Belas Artes António Arroio em 1991. Frequentou também o curso de História da Arte da Universidade Lusíada (Lisboa, Portugal), e o curso de Conservação e Investigação da Escultura no Instituto de Ciências do Património / Instituto Rainha D. Leonor (Lisboa, Portugal). É também diplomada em Gestão do Património pelo Centro Cultural Nacional (Lisboa, Portugal). Adicionalmente, frequentou vários outros cursos, nomeadamente o Curso de Escultura com o Mestre João de Brito e o Curso de Instalações Artísticas na Escola Nestart (Lisboa, Portugal). Trabalhou como diretora de uma Galeria de Arte antes de se tornar artista em tempo integral, desenvolvendo pesquisa na área de materiais e resinas em seu estúdio no Estoril, onde pinta e esculpe. Sua obra é considerada expressionista segundo o Curador da Fundação Millenium, e está representada em diversas coleções particulares e museus. Nos últimos 20 anos, participou de mais de 50 exposições individuais e coletivas, tanto em nível nacional quanto internacional. Foi convidada para dar uma entrevista sobre o tema da exposição “ligações perigosas” e “macho alfa” pelo jornal Expresso. enterview pour l'association portugaise d'art ALFA. Atualmente ela está fazendo residência artística na Fundação Champalimaud até 2022.

About the artist


Clotilde Bourgard

1st Honorable Mention awarded by Carlos Carreiras, Mayor of Cascais, in the 2012 edition.
Awarding of the Arts Prize from the Portuguese Academy of Letters as academic correspondent in the cultural area 2019

Born in Lisbon in 1970, she devoted herself to art from an early age, completing her degree in art at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes António Arroio in 1991. She also attended the History of Art course at the Lusíada University (Lisbon, Portugal), and the Conservation and Research of Sculpture course at the Institute of Heritage Sciences / Instituto Rainha D. Leonor (Lisbon, Portugal). She also holds a diploma in Heritage Management from the Centro Cultural Nacional (Lisbon, Portugal). She also attended several other courses, including the Sculpture Course with Mestre João de Brito and the Artistic Installations Course at the Nestart School (Lisbon, Portugal).

She worked as the director of an art gallery before becoming a full-time artist, researching materials and resins in her studio in Estoril, where she paints and sculpts. Her work is considered expressionist according to the Curator of the Millennium Foundation, and is represented in several private collections and museums. Over the past 20 years, she has participated in more than 50 solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. She was invited to give an interview on the theme of the exhibition “dangerous liaisons” and “alpha male” by the newspaper Expresso. interview for the Portuguese Association of Art ALFA.
She is currently doing an artistic residency at the Champalimaud Foundation until 2022.
