Magnificent authentic biface from the Lower Paleolithic, Acheulean in flint.
Found in the Charente-Maritime department (17) in France.
Biface with a magnificent glossy multicolored riverine patina.
Base with remaining cortex at the level of the prehensile part.
Rare and sought-after piece with a polished and colorful patina.
Found in Saint James (annotated) near the port of Envaux, known for the very beautiful sandstone tools that were found there at the beginning of the century.
Length 14.9 cm.
Maximum length: 8 cm

Provenance: France, Charente Maritime.
The lot comes from an old private collection of a former quarry worker who worked in the quarries of Charente and Charente-Maritime during the first half of the 20th century.
