Paleolithic Flint paleolithc chopping tool/protobiface (No Reserve Price)
This protobiface was made from a beautifully coloured flint nodule. These tools are considered transitional pieces between the earlier choppers/chopping tools and the fully worked hand axes. Characteristic is the preservation of a large part of the cortex and where a minimum of flaking is still aimed for a pointed shape. These protobifaces are not common in large assemblages.
Originating from the West Sahara (Seguiet el Hamra)
Dimensions 100 x 79 mm
No restorations
