The locomotives of construction series 10 were built after the Second World War as standard locomotives and were intended as successors to the Series 01 and 01.10. Two machines of the Baureihe 10 (10 001 – 10 002) were built by Krupp. These were put into service starting from January 1957. However, the locomotives arrived too late to be further developed into a large and significant series, and they were retired in 1968.
