Arcam - Delta 110 Preamplifier + Delta 120.2 Power Amplifier Audio amplifier - Multiple models

ARCAM pre- and power amplifier combination A ready-to-use amplifier set (pre- and power amplifier from Arcam, with two high quality Audioquest signal cables for connecting the components and adding a signal source (such as a CD player or streaming audio line output). In my years as a hi-fi consultant, I have developed a taste for expensive high-end audio (such as Mark Levinson, Audio Research, etc.), but never had the budget to buy it. These Arcam amplifiers (made in Cambridge) were the best choice that could be made with a modest budget, just below the quality of ultimate high end, but on all audio aspects superior to what is called 'mid-fi' (NAD, Quad, Rotel, Denon, Marantz, etc.). I have had a lot of musical pleasure from that choice for years and last year I was finally able to realize the long-desired upgrade to a high-end amplifier set. I know that selling the components separately will probably yield more, but it is worth something to me to sell this combination to a music lover who can enjoy it for years to come. For this price you will not easily find a better sounding combination. The amplifiers: The Arcam Delta 110 is a great preamplifier, with a built-in Phono module (for MM and MC) that performs wonderfully. The sound image of the Delta 110 is precise and has a pleasant depth. This is the Delta 110 with a built-in Blackbox 3 D/A converter, but that converter is outdated and cannot be compared with what the market offers today to bring your digital music source to life. The Arcam Delta 120.2 dual mono power amplifier is a very stable and powerful power amplifier, that can handle almost any loudspeaker, from a small monitor with a low sensitivity to a robust floorstander, to one with erratic impedance (temporarily well below 4 Ohm) behaviour. This double mono (with two large toroidal transformers) power amplifier combines best with speakers with an open sound and a sufficiently even frequency response, such as Etude, Translator, JM Reynaud, better Bowers & Wilkins, Quadral, Mission and many other brands. Bridged, this power amplifier is capable of delivering enormous power (for example to drive a large passive subwoofer). The signal cables: 1.5 m Audioquest Topaz with IXOS connectors 0.5 m Audioquest Ruby with Audioquest connectors Audioquest cables were chosen because Arcam also used them internally in their equipment, as you can see in the photos. Two universal remote control units are also included (not in the photos) for controlling the volume of the preamp, due to irreparable damage to the original remote control. The rubber feet under the units have been replaced by gold colored spiked cones. Condition: Due to their age and the fact that they have been moved more than once (also used in comparisons), the amplifiers show clear signs of use (scratches and fingerprints that are difficult to see in the photos). The volume knob of the preamp makes some crackling noise when turning (not at a fixed volume); this is caused by dust and can best be counteracted by just turning it. Never use contact spray, as this will cause major problems in the long run. The relays of the power amplifier output can also generate some crackling sound, although this happens rarely. The larger capacitors in the output stage have been replaced at some point and are still in excellent condition (no 'bulging' capacitors), but are of course also somewhat older in the meantime. All in all, this combination is absolutely ready for use and enjoyable for years to come. Picking up the equipment in the Netherlands is possible, shipping will be via DHL or PostNL.

ARCAM pre- and power amplifier combination

A ready-to-use amplifier set (pre- and power amplifier from Arcam, with two high quality Audioquest signal cables for connecting the components and adding a signal source (such as a CD player or streaming audio line output).

In my years as a hi-fi consultant, I have developed a taste for expensive high-end audio (such as Mark Levinson, Audio Research, etc.), but never had the budget to buy it.
