Ross Hendrick - Take your medicine

Take your medicine. Satirical piece based on McDonald's and other junk food outlets' grip on the world. Juxtaposing children's picture book style with a satirical adult subject matter. Acrylic on A1 mountboard, 84 x 59 cm. Ross Hendrick is an artist who has drawn comic strips for well known British comics such as The Beano and Viz, as well as illustrating children's books and greeting cards. Most recently, he is creating cartoon paintings taking the children's illustration style and contrasting it with topics which are more adult in nature, mixed with his graffiti / street art influence and unique brand of humour. He has a passion for character design, and often makes satirical work based on modern life. His inspirations are artists such as Ronald Searle, Ralph Steadman, Quentin Blake and Gerald Scarfe. He is also heavily influenced by graffiti and street art, and has often brought his unique characters on to the streets in the form of wheatpaste posters.
