Beautifully illustrated book (27,5 cm high, 19 cm wide) in hardback with highly decorated red cloth. Front cover is bright but corners rubbed and has gilt edges. Text within colour frames by Gustave Fraipont and 12 engravings by Lefrancq with additional illustrations in the text throughout. Each illustration has protective blotting paper which shows the typical ink stains. Publisher Emile Guérin The preface is by JT de St Germain (pseudonym of Jules Tardieu, 1805 – 1868) 217 pages, The condition is fair to good for its age, with normal wear for its age, some discolouration, age-toning on the pages round the edges and foxing in places mainly round the edges of the illustrations.
