Contemporary abstract painter I am a contemporary abstract artist living and working in Italy. I develop my work through distinct pictorial series and projects, but with a concept that always draws on the natural dimension: elements, cycles, metamorphosis, interior gardens, flowers as a metaphor for the female condition. All the works I present on Catawiki are unique, hand-painted pieces: the surfaces are dynamic, textured, and textured. You can sense the movement and constant energy of each brushstroke. My technique is based on layering acrylic colors, sometimes combined with oil. I combine this structured approach with a freer dimension: using drippings, fluid gestures, dripping techniques, the use of brushes, and especially palette knives of various sizes: this allows me to avoid rigid forms and leave room for chance and imperfection. It is in this fusion of color study and expressive freedom that my visual language comes to life. Some of the key series: NATURE FLOW: The project explores the profound connection between humans and nature through a series of abstract paintings inspired by the primary elements: earth, water, air, fire, and space. Color becomes a sensorial and symbolic language, capable of initiating an intimate dialogue with the viewer. Nature Fusion is an invitation to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the natural dimension that belongs to us and transforms us. LES FLEURS and IL GIARDINO DI FLORA, abstract and vibrant flowers celebrate the fragility and strength of existence. Flowing and textures render these subjects suspended, poetic, in constant metamorphosis. These works reveal influences from art history: from Monet's interior garden, and in LES FLEURS, the forms, sometimes sensual, recall the organic femininity of Georgia O'Keeffe's flowers. In "BLUE MIND," ​​the element of water takes center stage: from the depths of the sea to the transparent blue of its surfaces, the artist evokes the regenerating and contemplative power of blue. It is an emotional, meditative, almost sacred immersion. The "HANAKO GARDEN" series is inspired by a Zen legend, where the garden becomes a symbol of inner transformation. Bright colors, fluid shapes, and suspended atmospheres evoke a mental space between dream and reality, with references to Japanese painting and the imagery of Bosch. I am an artist deeply connected to natural elements, primordial forms, and the energy that emerges from earth, water, and silence. Nature is my refuge and my medicine. In my works, I never depict the human figure: I choose to exclude the ego to make room for essence, for spirit. I work with canvas and acrylic because of their connection to pictorial tradition, but I seek a free, vibrant, and fluid result on the surface. I would define my style as a "chromatic poetry of nature": an invitation to rediscover essential beauty, connection, and breath—a reminder that we are an integral part of this whole. I observe it with wonder, imagine it, and rework it in my paintings, with the aim of sharing and conveying the same emotions I experience in profound contact with these natural elements. INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTIST: Laura Capellini is a multidisciplinary artist. After graduating from art school with a degree in Design, she graduated in 2004 with a degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and furthered her education with Erasmus scholarships at the School of Fine Arts in Athens and the University of Barcelona. She currently lives and works in Italy. The artist is represented on Singulart and Saatchi. Her works are held in private collections throughout Europe, the United States, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Singapore. The number of collectors is rapidly growing, as is the value of her work. All the works on Catawiki are unique pieces, hand-painted by the artist; you can feel the movement and constant energy of each brushstroke imprinted on the surface.
