Grapes: Malbéc 100% Fattoria Aldobrandesca, owned by Marchesi Antinori, is located near the historic village of Sovana in southern Tuscany. An enchanting place where wines capable of best expressing the typical characteristics of the Maremma have been produced since 1997. This wine is dedicated to the Vie Cave, Etruscan roads dug into the tuff that deeply furrow the territory of Sovana, thus revealing very ancient routes. A deep and structured red that comes from careful geological and oenological research aimed at enhancing the potential of a new grape variety on the Italian scene, malbèc, a grape of French origin that has found a terroir of choice in the volcanic Maremma. Ruby red in color, intense and deep. On the nose there are fruity notes that leave room for spicy notes, cloves and vanilla. On the palate the wine is balanced, soft, persistent, with particularly sweet tannins. The aftertaste, dominated by hints of blueberry and ripe black fruits, is accompanied by light notes of bitter chocolate.
