Narrative This Edo-period katana stands as a fine example of the samurai tradition, balancing the strength of its blade with the refined elegance of a complete koshirae. The sword embodies both utility and artistry, making it a highly desirable collector’s item, preserved with traces of its centuries-old history. Blade The blade has a 64,4 cm length (nagasa) It displays a graceful sori (curvature), typical of Edo craftsmanship. The hada (steel grain) is visible, along with a hamon of undulating activity, a clear testament to traditional forging. The polish remains in very good condition, enhancing its historical authenticity. The kissaki (tip) is well shaped and proportioned. The nakago (tang) retains its aged patina, with one mekugi-ana, showing its genuine period condition. Mounting (Koshirae) Tsuka (hilt): wrapped in brown tsuka-ito over white samegawa. The menuki are highly detailed, depicting a dragon and a stylized figure, symbols of protection and spiritual strength. Fuchi/Kashira: crafted in iron, with a simple yet elegant design that complements the menuki. Tsuba (guard): an iron piece, functional with a dark patina. Saya (scabbard): finished in black lacquer with reddish decorative streaks (kanshitsu style), a refined and highly valued design. It retains a black sageo in good condition. Condition The sword maintains its full historical character: the nakago with patina, the blade with an authentic polish, and a coherent complete koshirae. Blade

The blade has a 64,4 cm length (nagasa)

It displays a graceful sori (curvature), typical of Edo craftsmanship.
