Austria – Friesach Denier of Adalbert III of Bohemia (1168–1177)
Silver denier struck under Archbishop Adalbert III of Bohemia during his tenure as Archbishop of Salzburg (1168–1177). Minted in Friesach, one of the most important coin-producing centers of medieval Carinthia, this issue exemplifies the early development of regional Austrian coinage.
The obverse typically bears a stylized bust or ecclesiastical symbol representing the archbishop, while the reverse features a cross or architectural motif, characteristic of Friesach-type issues from the late 12th century.
