Polish Auschwitz Commemorative silver Cross with original ribbon. Auschwitz Cross - Polish state decoration (a tribute to people imprisoned in German concentration camps, for their martyrdom and courage). The name of the award comes from the concentration camp in Auschwitz (Oświęcim). Dimensions: 42 x 42 mm (silver). The obverse shows a barbed wire and two columns. In the centre there is a red triangle with the letter P (such patch was used in German concentration camps for Poles). On the horizontal arms there is an inscription: 1939 – 1945. The reverse bears the inscription: PRL/ WIĘŹNIOM / HITLEROWSKICH / OBOZÓW KONCENTRACYJNYCH (PRL /TO PRISONERS OF / NAZI / CONCENTRATION CAMPS). This makes the medal a unique collector's item.
