The subject of the auction is a large vintage enamel sign from the period of the Austro-Hungarian partition of Poland. The inscription is in Yiddish and features a symbol of a hand pointing the way to the synagogue. The item was purchased at an antique market in Krakow, a city where, to this day, one can find many souvenirs from the period when Jews constituted a large part of the city's population.
