It is extremely rare for Dow’s to declare two Vintage Ports in consecutive years, something that only happens when the wine quality is truly exceptional. The Dow’s Vintage Port 2017 was declared with great pride by the Symington family and is considered a wine worthy of the great classics of the house. Produced from some of the finest vineyards in the Douro Valley, with highlights including Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira, this Vintage shows depth, intensity and remarkable structure, ensuring excellent ageing potential for decades. Tasting notes It displays an exceptionally deep colour, with appealing floral aromas and notes of rockrose (cistus). On the palate it is full-bodied, rich and powerful, featuring ripe black fruit, firm tannins and a dry, austere finish, typical of Dow’s style. Limited production Only 16% of Dow’s total production was selected for bottling, equivalent to 5,250 cases (12x75cl). Bottled in May 2019, unfiltered.
