Artadi Valdeginés 2019 is a wine made by Artadi wineries in Rioja Alavesa with Tempranillo grapes from a single selected vineyard from which it takes its name, Finca Valdeginés, and which is cultivated following organic viticulture techniques. PRODUCTION: Artadi Valdeginés wine is made with grapes harvested from a single vineyard in the Álava region of Laguardia, at an altitude of over 600 meters. This vineyard, covering only 7 hectares, has poor, shallow soils composed of clay and limestone. The harvest is done manually, using small 15-kilogram crates to transport the bunches. Once the harvest arrives at the winery, the best bunches and berries are selected on a sorting table before pressing. Vinification begins with cold maceration in open tanks for 48 hours. After pressing, the must rests in the same tanks for 10-12 days, during which fermentation takes place (in addition, daily pump-overs and punch-downs are performed). Finally, the wine is transferred to new French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place, followed by aging for 12 to 15 months.
