This Amarone Classico originates from the heart of Valpolicella Classica, the historic and oldest viticultural area. The Tommasi family owns over 200 hectares in this splendid hilly area, which extends northwest of Verona toward Lake Garda. Amarone is made with the red grapes traditionally grown in the area: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta, sourced from the estate's prestigious crus of La Groletta and Conca d'Oro. After harvesting, the finest bunches are left to dry in special drying rooms for approximately three months, concentrating sugars and aromas. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels for approximately five days. The wine then ages for at least 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and finishes its aging process in bottle before being released for sale. Tommasi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a concentrated and powerful red, expressing the region's great tradition of producing wines from dried grapes. It adheres to the ancient practice of using large, unobtrusive barrels for aging, avoiding excessive release of wood aromas. In the glass, it displays an intense, almost dark ruby ​​red.
