Saint James - Rhum - b. 1970-luku, 1980-luku - 70cl - 2 pullojen
Founded in 1765 in Martinique.
It is one of the oldest agricultural rum distilleries in the world.
Agricultural rum = made with fresh sugarcane juice, NOT molasses (this alone makes a huge difference).
The name "Saint James"
It's not English by chance:
In the 18th century, Martinique traded extensively with English-speaking countries.
"Saint James" was chosen because it sounded British and facilitated exports.
It was a huge commercial success in Europe.
19th and 20th centuries: prestige
Saint James became the absolute benchmark for agricultural rum.

France
