The name "Saint James" It's not English by chance: In the 18th century, Martinique traded extensively with English-speaking countries. "Saint James" was chosen because it sounded British and facilitated exports. It was a huge commercial success in Europe. 19th and 20th centuries: prestige Saint James became the absolute benchmark for agricultural rum.
