Biography | LACRISS & LAPSUS PROJECT Born in Rome in April 1990, LACRISS experiences art as an instinctive necessity: a reality that has always belonged to her. Since her school days, drawing emerged as a natural calling: she recalls never leaving home without a pencil in her pocket, like an amulet. When she felt bored by the grayness of the buildings or out of step with the rhythm of a conversation, she would pull it out to draw and give shape to her thoughts, even creating entire imaginary cities on the edges of newspapers and paper napkins. That pencil was her shield against the banality of the world and proof that, as long as she had a mark to leave, she would have a reality to inhabit. This absolute passion has flourished today into a defined profession. Influenced by urban culture, Street Art, and photography, her work finds its place in the contemporary art scene with a visceral and original style. LACRISS develops a confident and instinctive language on canvas, where drips of paint, bold acrylic brushstrokes, and spray-paint layers soil the surface in a harmonious chaos. The use of mixed media-charcoal, pencils, markers, and inks-generates vibrant and colorful works that exude the energy of the street, while maintaining a monumental presence.
