Pedro Almodóvar Caballero (Calzada de Calatrava, September 25, 1949) is a Spanish film director, screenwriter and producer, the one who has achieved the greatest acclaim and resonance outside Spain in recent decades since Luis Buñuel. He has received major international film awards, including two Oscars, a Golden Lion, an Ariel Award and several Goya Awards. In 2017 he was the president of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
