Pintia belongs to the renowned Vega Sicilia estate in the Ribera del Duero region. However, this Pintia originates from a recent project in the Toro region and has been released since 2001. The vineyards encompass 96 hectares and are spread across various terroirs. They lie at an average altitude of 700 meters, where the climate is quite extreme and continental. The grape variety is Tempranillo, locally known as Tinta de Toro. The wine adheres to the same strict guidelines as the estate's Duero wines: sourced from old vines, very strict grape selection, and fermentation and aging in the finest French and American oak from their own barrelry.
