Tenuta Luce - Lucente 2023 - Toscana IGT Lucente is the second wine of Tenuta Luce, representing a more contemporary and immediate interpretation of the estate's terroir in Montalcino. The 2023 vintage stands out for its great balance and fruit intensity, offering an approachable profile without sacrificing the elegance and complexity typical of its producer. Blend: Primarily Merlot and Sangiovese. 2023 Vintage Characteristics The 2023 growing season in Montalcino benefited from a rainy spring followed by a warm, dry summer, allowing for perfect phenolic ripeness of both Merlot and Sangiovese. Winemaking: Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks for about 10–12 days, with skin maceration to extract color and structure. Aging: The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of new and second-passage French oak barriques to soften the tannins while preserving the vibrant fruit notes. Sensory Profile: Deep ruby red. The bouquet is intense and fruity, featuring notes of blackberry, plum, and raspberry, enriched by nuances of vanilla and light roasting. On the palate, it is soft, round, and well-structured, with silky tannins and a fresh, persistent finish. Serving: Ideal with savory pasta dishes, grilled red meats, and medium-aged cheeses
