Petrit Markaj (XXI) - David Bowie

Original artwork by Petrit Markaj, a contemporary Franco-Kosovar artist known for his expressive exploration of the human condition.

This striking composition presents a powerful monochrome David Bowie portrait enriched with vibrant turquoise and yellow graphic elements. The work integrates multilingual text (Japanese and French), symbolic figures, and recurring question marks, creating a layered visual narrative around identity, belief, and introspection.

The central gesture of silence (Shh) gives the piece a strong emotional presence, while the fusion of figurative portraiture with urban and pop-art influences reflects Markaj’s diverse artistic language.

Unlike his classical oil paintings, this work belongs to a more contemporary, street-art influenced approach, combining raw expression with graphic symbolism.
