Edith Ogden Harrison - Lands of the Sun: Impressions of a Visit to Tropical Lands.
Published by A. C. McClurg & Co., Chicago., 1925
268 pp, - very good copy in original yellow cloth covered boards with dustjacket (little chipped spine).
Over 150 photographic (also smaller) plates of places visited.
A SIGNED presentation copy from the author dated August 5, 1942.
The author describes the trip she took with her husband from their home in the US across the Pacific to Asia. She includes chapters on Japan, China, Saigon, Angkor, Java, Borobudur, Burma, India (from Calcutta to Lahore), the Khyber Pass and the Kingdom of Jaipur and from Udaipur to Colombo. An example of a travel account from a very different era. In this chatty account Mrs Harrison airs her views on all she sees from her fellow travellers to the places visited along the way.
