Drift unfolds as a continuous flow of color and gesture, where the painting seems to escape any fixed point. The composition is dominated by broad curves and chromatic transitions between warm tones — incandescent oranges, dense magentas and electric pinks — that suggest movement, dilation and displacement.
Unlike a rigid or fragmented structure, here everything is organized in a logic of drift. The shapes do not collide, they glide. Soft lines and enveloping arcs guide the eye on an almost hypnotic journey, as if we were facing a system in slow but constant transformation. This sensation is reinforced by transparencies and overlays, where layers of spray reveal and conceal the painting process simultaneously.
The splashes on the top of the canvas introduce an element of gravity and time, recording the direct action of the material and breaking the controlled fluidity of the forms. There is a subtle tension between intention and chance — between what is guided by the gesture and what is left to the physical behavior of the ink.
Despite its abstraction, Drift evokes spatial and almost architectural references. The curves can be read as passages, tunnels or circuits, suggesting displacement within an undefined space. At the same time, the chromatic intensity brings the work closer to a sensory experience rather than a representational one.
The title reinforces this reading: “drift” as deviation, as movement without a fixed destination, as a state of suspension. The painting does not seek to resolve itself, but to remain in transit — an open field where color, form and gesture exist in permanent displacement.
