Our America Super American Dream” is a collection of works by Kenji Kanesaka, a Japanese writer, photographer, and filmmaker. After graduating from Keio University, he began interacting with American filmmakers through an international seminar at Harvard University, which led to frequent trips to the U.S. He came into contact with the essence of the hippie movement, the counterculture created by American youth in the 1960s, and became friends with Allen Ginsberg, Andy Warhol, and Patti Smith, Kenji Kanesaka, a pioneer of “underground writers,” has continued to introduce through his own experiences the deep American culture that Japanese people longed for and were inspired by, through films, photographs, essays, and other media.
