A voracious and spontaneous creator, Bruno Cantais lives in Lyon; he explores several techniques, ranging from abstract expressionism to Rauchenberg or De Kooning, to material projections in the manner of Georges Mathieu, to Pop Art collage, or to Karel Appel's expressionism, which traverses the borders between abstract gesture and figurative representation. But his signature remains this physical painting, this material worked with the body, a testament to the artist's intimate monologue.
