Pari kiinalaisia posliinidragoneja, republikan ajan tyyliin, kirkkaan keltaisella pohjalla, jokainen 5,9 cm korkea ja 9,5 cm halkaisijaltaan, kauniisti maalatut vastakkaiset drakit, jotka ajavat palavitsevia helmiä pilvien keskellä ja pohjissa rautaisen punaiset Qianlongin nelikirjaimiset merkit; kunnossa kohtuullinen pieniä säröjä ja lasituksen kulumaa reunoilla.
Myyjän antama kuvaus
A pair of Chinese porcelain cups dating to the Republic period (1912–1949), decorated with two dragons pursuing a flaming pearl amongst clouds on a vibrant yellow ground.
Each cup is finely painted in coloured enamels with opposing dragons and traditional cloud motifs. The bases bear iron-red apocryphal Qianlong four-character marks, a feature commonly found on Republic period porcelains inspired by earlier Qing imperial wares.
Height: 5.9 cm each.
Condition:
Both cups have several small rim chips and glaze losses around the mouth rim, together with age-related wear. No repairs have been observed. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
An attractive and collectible pair of Republic period Chinese dragon cups, displaying well despite the noted condition issues
A decorative and collectible pair of Chinese dragon cups, ideal for display or addition to a collection of Asian ceramics
“Fresh from a private English collection.
