Vincent Dauvissat became one of France’s most celebrated vignerons.  Today, his domaine is widely considered the reference point for the entire Chablis appellation — and even his Petit Chablis is proof that greatness runs through every bottle he produces.

From a plot situated above the legendary Les Clos Grand Cru vineyard , this is no ordinary entry-level white. The bouquet is bright, complex and expressive, offering scents of apple, pear, beeswax, chalky soil tones and a topnote of white flowers.  On the palate, it is fleshy and ripe, showing zesty lemon and lime fruit with good acidity and mineral notes keeping the palate fresh — a forward style with a lot of complexity for its level. 

Critics were effusive. Brimming with character and complexity, this 2020 Petit Chablis transcends its humble appellation — medium to full-bodied, taut and chiselled, with racy acids and a pungently saline finish. 

The vintage itself is exceptional. In Vincent’s own words: “The 2020 vintage was both early and dry — plenty of maturity at harvest, not too high in alcohol, and I think it’s still quite a classic year.”  No grower in the region has done a better job of retaining all of Chablis’s classical signatures in the warmer, sunnier vintages of the last decade.
