Goebel Artis Orbis – Täydellinen Art Nouveau -lasikokoelma – Mucha "Neljän vuodenajan" (neljän kappaleen setti) & Klimt "The Kiss" maljakko – 5 kpl, n. 2000
Description:
Five pieces. Two of the greatest names in Art Nouveau history. One collection.
This ensemble brings together a complete set of four Goebel Artis Orbis glass vases depicting Alphonse Mucha's "The Four Seasons" (1900) — Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter — alongside a frosted conical vase reproducing Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss" (1907–08). All five pieces were produced by Goebel, Germany.
What sets this collection apart is the finish: the ornamental borders are applied with genuine gold — up to 18% pure gold — baked into the glass surface, a hallmark of the Artis Orbis line. This is not gold-coloured paint. The result is a warmth and depth that reproduces the gilded opulence of the originals with unusual fidelity.
The Mucha vases (10 × 7 × 7 cm each) are marked on the base: Goebel Artis Orbis / Mucha Trust / VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn 2000. The Klimt vase (approx. 20 cm height) carries the original Goebel Handmade label. All five pieces are in very good condition, consistent with careful display use. Hand washing recommended to preserve the gold finish.
Mucha and Klimt remain the two most collected names of the Art Nouveau and Vienna Secession movements. The Goebel Artis Orbis programme, now discontinued, produced officially licensed editions that are increasingly difficult to find complete and in this condition.
