Year: 2025
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions of the painted part: 50 × 60 cm

The painting depicts a young woman seated beside a window, captured in a moment of quiet and reflection as she gently holds a book between her hands. The gaze directed toward the natural light suggests an intimate and contemplative dimension, transforming a simple everyday moment into a scene rich in emotion and delicacy. The composition recalls the tradition of classical figurative portraiture, reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility that prioritizes balance, light, and the expressiveness of the figure.
Soft tones, dominated by ivory, beige and brown shades, blend harmoniously with the warm light filtering through the window, shaping the face, the drapes of the fabric, and the atmosphere of the surroundings with natural ease. The delicate chiaroscuro enhances the depth of the scene and the refinement of the details, while the glazes typical of oil painting give softness and realism to the entire composition. In person, the richness of color, the quality of the brushstrokes, and the materiality of the painting surface emerge more intensely, aspects that photography can only partially convey.
The Italian artist, born in 1975 in Favignana, has over time developed a personal painting path, nourished by travel experiences and direct encounters with cultures and landscapes from around the world. This international dimension has profoundly influenced her artistic vision, enriching her research with visual suggestions and expressive sensibility.
Her practice focuses mainly on painting, with a preference for traditional techniques reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Through constant and autonomous study, she has explored themes related to light, matter, and compositional balance, elements that constitute the heart of her artistic language.
Over the years she has defined a recognizable style, characterized by evocative figuration that blends memory, perception and imagination. Her works engage in dialogue with artistic tradition, while maintaining a current and personal perspective.
Her creations are part of private collections in various parts of the world, including Northern Europe, the Middle East and Oceania, attracting interest from collectors and enthusiasts. Her exhibition activity unfolds between selective contexts and independent projects, complemented by a steady production of unique works.
Currently she lives and works in Italy.
