Myyjän antama kuvaus

Then exquisite and rare piece of 19th-century European history for the true tobacco connoisseur or antique collector.
This authentic antique cigar humidor cabinet dates back to the late 1800s (circa 1870–1890) and features the highly detailed craftsmanship of the Napoleon III / Historism era. Designed as a luxury table-top presentation chest, it was a status symbol used in high-society smoking parlors to elegantly offer fine cigars to guests after dinner.
KEY FEATURES & DETAILS:
Themed Masterful Carvings: The drop-down front door and the inside of the top lid feature a stunning, hand-carved central motif depicting a bundled package of raw tobacco leaves tied with a ribbon, framed by ornate floral and geometric patterns.
Personalized Engraved Brass Monogram: The top of the pyramidal lid houses a beautiful, original inlaid brass plate intricately hand-engraved with the original owner’s initials (intertwined letters "E" and "C").
Complete Multi-Tiered Interior: Unlike many antique boxes that lost their components over time, this cabinet retains its full set of 5 slide-out wooden trays with precise grooved slots for holding individual cigars (approx. capacity 40-50 cigars). The very bottom features a plain drawer, historically used for matches, cutters, and smoking tools.
Ornate Side Handles: Both lateral sides boast majestic decorative handles carved directly out of the thick wood panels, shaped as stylized neoclassical shells and acanthus leaves.
DIMENSIONS:
Height: 27 cm (approx. 10.6 inches)
Width: 20 cm (approx. 7.8 inches)
Depth: 21 cm (approx. 8.2 inches)
CONDITION REPORT:
This item is in beautiful, honest antique condition with a rich, dark natural patina accumulated over 140+ years of history.
Flawless Mechanical Condition: All 6 interior drawers are in fantastic working order. They pull out and slide back in incredibly smoothly and quietly, with absolutely no noise, friction, or pulling—a true testament to the quality of the wood and construction.
The front door and lid open and close smoothly.
Please Note: The original key for the front lock is missing.
Authentic Wear: There are minor surface scratches and varnish wear on the base/underside from decades of tabletop use.
Historical Woodworm Details: The plain, uncarved back panel shows small, old, and inactive woodworm holes (flight holes) which are completely typical for European softwoods of this age and further verify its authentic antique heritage

This fragile wooden masterpiece will be wrapped with utmost care in heavy layers of bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy, double-walled box to ensure it arrives safely at your doorstep. Tracking number provided instantly upon shipment.
