19. vuosisadan brasiilialainen hope Guampa ketjulla, kartiomaisesti koverrettu kupu, leijonpäät ripustuksessa ja koristeellinen kehys, paino noin 554 g, kokonaiskorkeus noin 87 cm.
Myyjän antama kuvaus
Rara brasilian guampa hopeasta ketjulla — 1800-luvulta. Rara 1800-luvun brasilialainen guampa, kokonaan hopeasta toteutettu, kolmitummeinen lasekoppinen kupu, which is slightly widened at the upper edge, with smooth walls and discreetly faceted. The recipiente is crowned by rims framed near the mouth and base, giving it greater definition and formal balance. The cup sits inserted into a supporting ring, laterally articulated by two relief-form head-of-lion applications. From these elements rises an elaborate upper framework, formed by symmetrical cut-out volutes, gathered at the top by a turned element and suspension ring. The piece retains a long chain in silver, formed by interlaced links, intended for transport or suspension of the container. The combination of the sober-lined cup with the moving frame, the lion heads and the long chain gives it a character simultaneously functional and ceremonial. The designation guampa is used in South America for vessels intended for consuming traditional beverages, notably mate or tereré, although specimens vary significantly in shape, materials and mode of use. This is an uncommon piece, standing out for its heavy silver weight, the quality of the suspension structure and the presence of zoomorphic elements, representative of the historicist taste of the eighteenth to nineteenth-century jewelery.
