The vertical arrangement of the image emphasizes the sense of height from which the coast is viewed. The spectator seems to stand on a raised path between two rocky walls that descend toward a small cove. From this privileged place the gaze moves down the slope, passes through the vegetation and finally reaches the expanse of the sea. This sequence of planes creates a marked depth and turns the landscape into an invitation to visually enter it.

Between the two rocky ends stretches the sea, wide and quiet. Its surface occupies the central zone of the composition and appears dominated by pale blues, gray greens and delicate whitish areas. The absence of large waves reinforces the impression of calm, while small horizontal variations suggest barely perceptible movement. The water seems to extend uninterrupted until it fades into the horizon’s atmosphere.
