Kellopyhäkkö - Pronssi, japanilainen pronssinen bonshō-temppelinkello - 1850-1900

A finely cast bronze temple bell modelled after the traditional Japanese bonshō, the large bells used in Buddhist temples.

The domed crown is surmounted by a finely sculpted ryūzu, formed by two confronted dragons, while the body is decorated with the characteristic raised bosses (nyū) arranged in regular panels above horizontal reinforcing bands. The rich, naturally aged patina enhances the surface.
