Studies for Silence, Untitled presents a dreamlike landscape in which familiar natural forms are subtly transformed. A cluster of broad crowned trees stands beside a tall, almost architectural cypress, while a rounded, spotted form occupies the foreground. Against a vivid pink sky, small clouds repeat across the horizon and a pale moon introduces a quiet celestial presence.

The work balances the recognisable with the imagined. The exaggerated proportions and simplified forms give the landscape the character of a private mythology, while the repeated marks of crayon remain visible across the surface, lending the image a tactile, handmade quality.

Danieletto’s use of colour is particularly striking here. Soft pinks, luminous greens, earthy reds and cool blues create a world that feels both nostalgic and unfamiliar. The result is a contemplative landscape that seems to exist outside ordinary time, inviting the viewer into a moment of stillness and quiet observation.

Gianluca Danieletto

Born in Trieste in 1978, Gianluca Danieletto is an Italian painter and printmaker working between Trieste and Lugano.

After two decades devoted to tattooing, Danieletto turned his attention towards painting and works on paper, developing a practice centred on psychological spaces, suspended environments and enigmatic presences. His works move between recognisable forms and imagined worlds, creating scenes that feel at once familiar and strangely removed from reality.

Working across oil painting, drawing and etching, Danieletto employs a restrained palette and carefully controlled light. Everyday forms become vessels for quiet tension, while seemingly still environments acquire an introspective and almost cinematic quality.

His practice is concerned less with narrative than with atmosphere, inviting the viewer into spaces where time appears suspended and the boundary between the real and the imagined becomes deliberately uncertain.
