ABOUT THE ARTIST

Carolina Bellachi is a Spanish artist with an international presence. Her career has been recognized within the context of the Great Masters of the 21st and 20th Centuries in a prestigious international contemporary art auction in Italy, where her work was presented in a context that included names such as Picasso, Dalí and Damien Hirst.

Her art has been projected in Times Square, New York, and selected for premium auctions linked to Monopol Art Magazine (Germany). With her own gallery in Madrid and representation in New York, her work has been featured in international publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, The World of Interiors, Artribune and ELLE Decoration.

Carolina Bellachi develops her work within Emergetism, her own artistic philosophy. The term does not refer to the concept of an “emerging artist,” but rather to the act of emerging into one’s own inner self.

Following her studies in Psychology, the artist incorporates into her practice an exploration of perception, consciousness and the inner evolution of the human being.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ARTWORK

“Umbral Nº 2” belongs to the Umbral series, conceived as an exploration of the moment of transition: that symbolic threshold where darkness ceases to be merely the absence of light and becomes the place from which something new can emerge.

In this large-format artwork, black dominates the depth of the composition, creating an intense and immersive space. Beige and white tones, together with subtle golden highlights, progressively emerge toward the surface, creating a powerful contrast between darkness and luminosity.

The different layers, glazes, textures and variations in matter create a surface that changes according to the incidence of light and the viewer’s position. The delicate golden nuances do not seek to dominate the composition, but rather appear with restraint, almost like flashes gradually discovered through contemplation.

Within the language of Emergetism, Umbral Nº 2 represents transition: the possibility of moving through darkness, observing it and understanding it as part of a process of transformation and inner evolution.

The artwork invites the viewer to pause before it and experience that threshold between what remains hidden and what is beginning to emerge.

Carolina Bellachi desarrolla su obra dentro del Emergetismo, una filosofía artística propia que no hace referencia al concepto de “artista emergente”, sino al acto de emerger hacia el propio interior.

DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA OBRA

“Umbral Nº 2” pertenece a la serie Umbral, concebida como una exploración del instante de transición: ese punto simbólico en el que la oscuridad deja de ser únicamente ausencia de luz para convertirse en el lugar desde el que algo nuevo puede emerger.

En esta obra de gran formato, el negro domina la profundidad de la composición, creando un espacio intenso y envolvente. Sobre él aparecen progresivamente tonos beige, blancos y sutiles reflejos dorados, que emergen hacia la superficie y generan un poderoso contraste entre oscuridad y luminosidad.

Las diferentes capas, veladuras, texturas y variaciones de materia construyen una superficie que cambia con la incidencia de la luz y con la posición del espectador. Los delicados matices dorados no buscan dominar la composición, sino aparecer de forma contenida, casi como destellos que se descubren durante la contemplación.

Dentro del lenguaje del Emergetismo, Umbral Nº 2 representa el tránsito: la posibilidad de atravesar la oscuridad, observarla y comprenderla como parte de un proceso de transformación y evolución interior.
