About the work
Escena dentro de la escena explores the relationship between identity, perception and self-observation through the image of a woman looking at herself in a mirror.
The mirror creates a second visual reality within the painting, transforming the act of looking into a dialogue between the figure and her own reflection. The composition combines fragmented forms, irregular geometric planes and expressive black lines, characteristic of C. Del Barrio's contemporary visual language.
Rather than offering a single interpretation, the work invites the viewer to reflect on the different versions of ourselves that coexist between what we see, what we perceive and what others see.

About the artist
C. Del Barrio is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between contemporary Cubism and figurative abstraction. Her artistic language is characterised by imperfect geometry, expressive lines, vivid colour and symbolic, schematically constructed figures.
Initially trained in the arts, she has also developed a professional career as a lyric singer, while maintaining painting as an independent creative language.
Her work explores identity, emotion and transformation through compositions that combine recognisable figures with abstract and symbolic elements.
