Myyjän antama kuvaus
A powerful vintage open-face tungsten studio lamp, hand-built in Italy by QuartzColor Ianiro S.p.A. of Rome, one of the most respected names in professional film and television lighting. This is the Ianebeam 2 KW, type Mod. 3150 — the big 2000-watt “blonde”-class member of the Ianebeam range, built to throw a large, controllable wash of warm tungsten light across film sets and studio floors. It is offered here complete with barndoors and a transport flight case.
The maker
QuartzColor / Ianiro, based in Rome and later part of the Strand Lighting group, exported Italian-made luminaires worldwide and built a reputation for robust, beautifully styled fixtures. Their lamps are sought after today by working gaffers who still rely on classic tungsten light and by collectors and designers drawn to the striking industrial forms and the signature orange Italian styling of the analogue film era.
The fixture
The Ianebeam 2 KW is an open-face (lens-less) tungsten fixture rated 120–240V at 2000W — a serious high-output workhorse. Like the rest of the Ianebeam series it uses continuously adjustable FLOOD–SPOT focusing: a top control slides the lamp within the polished reflector to open the beam into a broad flood or concentrate it into a tighter spot, giving a wide creative range from a single head.
The housing is amber/orange enamelled aluminium set in a heavy black steel yoke with a stand spigot and locking knob, and it is fitted with a four-leaf barndoor set for shaping and cutting the light.
What is included
The lamp is supplied on its yoke with the four-leaf barndoor set and a transport flight case for safe storage and moving. (A suitable 2000W quartz-halogen lamp of the DXX/CP-type family is required for use.)
Condition
Used and honest, showing paint loss, scuffs and scratches consistent with its age and real studio use, and retaining its authentic, well-worn patina. It has not been over-restored. As with any vintage high-wattage tungsten fixture it is sold for display or for use by those familiar with older mains equipment; we recommend a check by a qualified electrician before putting it back into service, and appropriate cabling for its 2000W draw.
Who it is for
A substantial and collectible piece of cinema and broadcast history — impressive as a decorative statement piece for a home, studio, bar or media company, and equally a genuine high-output vintage fixture for tungsten-lighting enthusiasts. Sold exactly as pictured.
