This is the official exhibition book produced in conjunction with ADAPTATION - KYNE, held at the Fukuoka Art Museum from April to June 2024.

ADAPTATION - KYNE was KYNE’s first major solo exhibition in Japan. Bringing together works from his earlier career through to his latest creations, the exhibition offered a comprehensive overview of KYNE’s artistic journey and distinctive visual world.

KYNE is a Japanese artist based in Fukuoka. He is known for his distinctive portraits of cool, expressionless women, influenced by Japanese manga, music, and culture of the 1980s. His simple yet bold linework has become highly recognizable, attracting attention not only in Japan but also internationally.

This official exhibition book was published to commemorate the exhibition. In addition to featuring works from the exhibition, it includes texts by Etsuko Iwanaga, Director of the Fukuoka Art Museum, and Yuko Yamaki, Chief Curator of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. The book is presented in both Japanese and English.

The book was sold exclusively at the special exhibition shop and is now officially sold out. As a record of KYNE’s landmark first major solo exhibition in Japan, it is a highly appealing item for fans and collectors.
