A striking large vintage Anatolian Yörük kilim from Turkey, dating approximately to the mid-20th century and estimated to be around 70 years old.

Measuring 328 × 198 cm (approximately 10.8 × 6.5 ft), this substantial kilim covers approximately 6.49 m².

The kilim is entirely handwoven from 100% wool, following the traditional flatweaving techniques associated with Anatolian Yörük weaving.

Its most distinctive feature is the powerful geometric composition covering the entire field. Large interconnected hexagonal and diamond-shaped compartments contain colourful stylised geometric motifs, creating a highly rhythmic and visually impressive design.

The alternating deep burgundy and muted grey-blue fields are enriched with vivid accents of red, orange, pink, green, yellow, purple and ivory. Dark outlines strongly define the individual motifs and give the composition an almost mosaic-like quality.

The central field is surrounded by multiple geometric borders, including a prominent dark outer border with a repeating zigzag motif. Narrow multicoloured decorative bands at both ends provide an attractive finishing detail.

Despite its approximately 70 years of age, the kilim presents very well and retains a strong, vibrant decorative character.
